Confession time: I despise laundry. I mean, really, really loathe it.
On my Instagram, I conducted a poll asking whether people would prefer a self-loading dishwasher that puts away the dishes or a laundry-folding dryer. The overwhelming response, 92%, favored the laundry-folding dryer. Personally, I share that sentiment—I’d rather tackle dishes daily than face a mountain of laundry once a week!

Before our ‘no-fold’ (more like ‘less-fold’) laundry system, our bedroom had these endless laundry mounds that lingered for weeks. They became our little secret, stashed in closets, concealed when guests popped in—I was so ashamed of the chaos.
A year ago, I hit my breaking point and decided to adopt this ‘no-fold’ laundry approach I stumbled upon on Pinterest. We sort right out of the dryer, which surprisingly keeps things pretty neat. Each of us—my husband, kids, and I—has our own set of baskets. When they’re full, it’s time to put away clothes. And the best part? No complaints because it’s only every few weeks.
But here’s the magic: We trimmed down our clothing and linens to only what we actively use. A strict limit—no more than 100 tops for each of us. New shirt? Well, which old favorite gets the boot? Same goes for sheets and towels—no more than one extra set per bed and bathroom. I don’t miss the excess, trust me.
You see, as the oldest in our family, we inherited a boatload of hand-me-downs from our parents. For the first decade of marriage, we clung to all of it, terrified to let go. It cluttered our closets and drained our wallets. So, we finally took a leap, donated the surplus linens, and freed ourselves. Now? We’re happier, and our closets actually hold our favorite tees—not buried beneath the chaos.
